If you live in the UK

Routes that depend on your UK residence permit or visa, by passport.
  • Bangladeshi, Nigerian, Ghanaian, Sri Lankan and Filipino nationals: you cannot enter visa-free. With a valid UK visa or UK residence, apply online through Hayya for the Visa with ETA (A3). Your UK visa or residence must still be valid when the e-visa is issued.
  • Pakistani nationals: you can get a visa on arrival only if you book your hotel through Discover Qatar before you travel. Alternatively, apply online for the Visa with ETA (A3) using your UK residence or UK visa.
  • Indian nationals: Qatar's visa checker says you can enter visa-free with a passport valid for three months from arrival and a confirmed hotel booking. Discover Qatar lists India among nationalities that must book a Discover Qatar hotel, so booking through Discover Qatar, or applying for the A3 in advance, is the safe choice.
  • Turkish nationals: you can enter visa-free with a passport valid for three months from arrival and a confirmed hotel booking. You can also apply online for a Hayya e-visa before you travel.
  • If your UK visa or residence has expired, the A3 is not open to you. Visa-required nationalities then apply for the Tourist Visa (A1) on Hayya, with a hotel reservation.
  • Family visits: on a Hayya e-visa, a relative who lives in Qatar can host you through Hayya's Host Family & Friends option instead of a hotel. Your host needs a valid QID and an address registered on Metrash, and can host up to 5 guests.
  • The Qatar-Oman joint tourist visa is not open to any of these nationalities. Its list includes the UK but not India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Ghana, Sri Lanka, the Philippines or Turkey.

Documents for a Qatar visa

You provide

  • Passport Valid for at least three months from the date you arrive in Qatar, with a scanned copy for Hayya. Older Ministry of Interior pages ask for six months, so six months is the safer choice.
  • UK residence status For the A3: a copy of your valid UK visa or residence permit. It must still be valid when your e-visa is issued. If you hold a UK eVisa, have your share code ready.
  • Photo A recent personal photo, uploaded with your Hayya application.
  • Host details (family visits) If a relative in Qatar hosts you, they add you through Hayya's Host Family & Friends option. They need a valid QID and an address registered on Metrash.

We provide

  • Visa application Your Hayya e-visa application: the A3, or the A1 if you have no qualifying UK status. The QAR 100 fee is paid within 14 days of the payment request.
  • Return flight booking Hayya requires a return flight ticket. Book flights after your e-visa is approved, as Hayya advises.
  • Hotel booking Must cover your whole stay with no gaps. Pakistani nationals using a visa on arrival need a Discover Qatar booking.
  • Health insurance Visit Qatar recommends a policy that covers Qatar's medical facilities. You can also buy one on arrival.
