Schengen visa from the UK for non-UK passport holders
If you live in the UK on a non-UK passport, you apply through the consulate of the country where you will spend the most nights. One short-stay visa then covers all 29 Schengen countries for up to 90 days in any 180. The consulate fee is €90 and most decisions take 15 days.

Each page covers the visa centre, fees, documents and what is specific to applying from the UK.
Which consulate do you apply to?
Most nights
Apply to the country where you will spend the most nights. Four nights in Berlin and two in Paris means Germany.
Equal nights
If the nights are equal, apply to the country you enter first.
Main purpose
For a conference or a wedding, the country of the main purpose decides, even if you sleep longer elsewhere.
Schengen questions from UK residents
Do I need a Schengen visa if I live in the UK on a BRP?
It depends on your passport, not your UK status. Many nationalities living in the UK need a visa; UK residence decides where you can apply, not whether you need one.
How early can I apply?
Up to six months before travel and no later than 15 days before. Summer and December fill up first.
Can I apply to a different country if mine has no appointments?
Only if your plans genuinely change. Applying to the wrong consulate is a common refusal reason, so we find you a slot with the right one.
Does a Schengen visa work in Cyprus or Ireland?
Ireland, no: it has its own visa. Cyprus is not in the Schengen Area, but it accepts valid double- and multiple-entry Schengen visas for short stays, so check the conditions before you book.
