A UK visitor visa is not accepted. If you hold one, apply in your country of residence.
Slovenia must be your main destination by length or purpose of stay. If there is no main destination, Slovenia must be the first Schengen country you enter.
Tourists can use any of the three VFS centres. If you are visiting family or friends, travelling for business, study, a conference or a medical examination, or are a family member of a Slovenian citizen, you arrange an appointment with the embassy's consular section by email instead.

Slovenia visa questions from UK residents
Can I apply for a Slovenia visa on a BRP?
BRPs have been replaced by eVisas. VFS accepts a Home Office share code or your residence permit, valid for at least one month after you return from the Schengen area.
Where do I apply for a Slovenia visa in the UK?
Tourists apply at VFS Global in London, Manchester or Edinburgh. For family or friend visits, business, study, conferences or medical trips, you arrange an appointment with the Slovenian Embassy in London by email.
How long does a Slovenia visa take from the UK?
VFS gives a minimum of 15 calendar days, and up to 45 if other Schengen states are consulted. Add 2 days if you apply in Manchester or Edinburgh.
How much is a Slovenia Schengen visa from the UK?
€90 for anyone over 12 and €45 for children aged 6 to 12, charged in pounds. Children under 6 pay nothing. VFS adds an £18.25 service charge.
Do I need an invitation letter to visit family in Slovenia?
Yes. Your host needs a letter of invitation or guarantee certified at their administrative unit in Slovenia, and you add proof of your relationship.
Will my passport be stamped when I enter Slovenia?
No. Since 10 April 2026 the EU's Entry/Exit System records your entries and exits digitally instead of stamping your passport. As a visa holder, the system stores a photo of your face taken at the border; your fingerprints are already on file from your visa application.
Can I visit other Schengen countries on a Slovenia visa?
Yes. A Schengen visa covers all 29 Schengen countries for up to 90 days in any 180, as long as Slovenia is your main destination.
