Otherwise apply through a Saudi embassy, or for Umrah through Nusuk. The fee is SAR 300 plus insurance.

If you live in the UK

Routes that depend on your UK residence permit or visa, by passport.
  • Turkish nationals: Turkey is on the 68-country eVisa list, so you can apply online or get a visa on arrival whatever your UK status.
  • Pakistani, Indian, Bangladeshi, Nigerian, Ghanaian, Sri Lankan and Filipino nationals are not on the eVisa list. You can still get the eVisa or a visa on arrival if you hold a UK tourist or business visa that you have used at least once to enter the UK, or UK permanent residence. First-degree relatives travelling with you are covered too.
  • UK permanent residence most likely means indefinite leave to remain or settled status. Saudi rules do not mention UK student, skilled worker or family visas, so if that is your status, treat yourself as not eligible for the eVisa unless the Saudi Embassy in London confirms otherwise.
  • Without a qualifying UK visa or permanent residence, your routes are a tourist visa through a Saudi embassy or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' digital embassy, a tour package approved by the Ministry of Tourism, an Umrah visa through Nusuk Umrah or a licensed agent, or a stopover visa of up to 96 hours when you fly Saudia or flynas.
  • The Saudi electronic travel authorisation launched in July 2026 is for UK citizens only. It does not help non-UK passport holders.
  • Visiting family: the tourist visa covers visits to family and friends. Saudi Arabia also has a family visit visa sponsored by a relative living there, but its official page could not be read.

Documents for a Saudi Arabia visa

You provide

  • Passport Valid for at least six months from the date you enter Saudi Arabia.
  • Proof of your UK basis Your UK tourist or business visa with evidence you have used it to enter the UK, or proof of UK permanent residence (indefinite leave to remain or settled status). Turkish nationals do not need this.
  • Proof of relationship Birth or marriage certificates if first-degree relatives travel with you on your UK visa or residence.
  • Job and bank evidence (embassy route) An employer identification certificate, and a bank statement or salary certificate showing you can pay for the trip.
  • Meningitis ACWY vaccination certificate (Umrah) Vaccinated at least 10 days before arrival: conjugate vaccine within 5 years or polysaccharide within 3 years.

We provide

  • Visa application Your eVisa, KSA Visa or Nusuk Umrah application, on the route that fits your nationality and UK status.
  • Return flight booking A return ticket with your flight itinerary. Required for the embassy route and for stopover visas.
  • Hotel booking Accommodation booked in Saudi Arabia. For an Umrah visa it comes as part of the accommodation and transport package.
  • Medical insurance Insurance approved in Saudi Arabia. For the eVisa it is issued with the visa and its cost is included in the fee.

Umrah from the UK

What UK residents on a non-UK passport need to know before booking.
  • You can perform Umrah on the tourist eVisa, but not during the Hajj season. Book an Umrah permit in the Nusuk app before you go to Makkah.
  • If you do not qualify for the eVisa, apply for an Umrah visa directly on Nusuk Umrah or through a licensed agent. It is issued only with an accommodation and transport package, the Ministry estimates the visa fee at SAR 300, and you can stay up to 90 days.
  • Umrah e-visa applicants arriving from the UK must register their fingerprints with the Saudi Visa Bio app.
  • Umrah permits and Rawdah appointments are booked in the Nusuk app and are free. You can hold one active Umrah permit at a time and book again once it expires. A Saudi phone number is not needed to register.
  • For the 1448 season, Umrah visas are issued until 9 March 2027, the last entry is 23 March 2027 and the last departure is 7 April 2027.
  • During the Hajj season, holders of tourist and other visas cannot enter or stay in Makkah. In 2026 this applied from 18 April, and Nusuk Umrah permits were suspended until 31 May. The 2027 dates have not been announced.
  • The multiple-entry Umrah visa launched on 20 July 2026 is valid for 365 days with up to 90 days in total. Each visit needs a service package and a Nusuk permit, and it is not active from 1 Dhul-Qadah to 13 Dhul-Hijjah.
  • Women may perform Umrah without a mahram, according to the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
  • The Public Health Authority requires meningococcal ACWY vaccination for all Umrah pilgrims, and the UK government says you must have a valid certificate. Polio and yellow fever rules depend on where you fly from: arrivals from Pakistan or Afghanistan need polio vaccination, and arrivals from Ghana or Nigeria need yellow fever vaccination.
  • Hajj is not possible on a tourist or Umrah visa. The UK government advises checking that your travel agent or operator is ATOL protected when you book Umrah.

Is it safe to travel to Saudi Arabia now?

Makkah, Madinah and Jeddah are outside those areas, but it reports a heightened threat to airports including Jeddah. Check gov.uk and your insurance before you book.
