Who can apply from the UK

The Czech Embassy in London accepts Schengen applications from long-term and permanent UK residents, and VFS says its London centre is only for people who live in the UK.

Your UK residence permit or eVisa share code must be valid at least one month after you return from the Schengen area. A UK visitor visa is not accepted.

Czechia must be your main destination: where you stay longest, or your first point of entry if your stays are equal.

There is one centre, in London, so everyone in the UK applies there. Everyone attends in person, including children.

Czechia visa questions from UK residents

Can I apply for a Czechia visa on a BRP?

BRPs have been replaced by eVisas. VFS accepts a Home Office share code, valid at least one month after you return from the Schengen area.

Where do I apply for a Czechia visa in the UK?

Only at the VFS Global Czech Visa Application Centre in London. There is no Czech centre in Manchester or Edinburgh.

How long does a Czechia visa take from the UK?

The embassy decides within 15 days, extendable to 45. VFS says to allow at least 2 weeks, or 3 weeks if your nationality needs prior consultation.

How much is a Czechia Schengen visa from the UK?

The visa fee is €90 (£78 on the May 2026 list) for adults and €45 (£39) for children aged 6 to 11. Children under 6 pay nothing. VFS adds a €26.20 service charge.

How much money do I need for a Czech visa?

VFS asks for UK bank statements showing at least £54 for each day in the Schengen area, plus any travel and accommodation costs you have not yet paid.

How far ahead should I book a Czech visa appointment?

The embassy suggests at least 45 days before you travel, because demand is high. You can apply up to 6 months ahead.

Will my passport be stamped when I enter Czechia?

No. Since 10 April 2026 the EU's Entry/Exit System records your entries and exits digitally instead of stamping your passport. As a visa holder, the system stores a photo of your face taken at the border; your fingerprints are already on file from your visa application.

Can I visit other Schengen countries on a Czechia visa?

Yes. A Schengen visa covers all 29 Schengen countries for up to 90 days in any 180, as long as Czechia is your main destination.
